Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of EventPix, an event photography platform operated by Laligence (“EventPix”, “we”, “us”). By creating an account, uploading photographs, or buying or downloading a photograph through EventPix, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

1. Who may use EventPix

You must be at least 13 years old to hold an EventPix account. Individual events may carry their own age restriction — All ages, 13+, 16+ or 18+ — set by the organiser, and you may not access an event you do not meet the age restriction for.

If you are using EventPix on behalf of a company or organisation, you confirm that you are authorised to accept these Terms on its behalf.

2. Accounts and roles

One account can hold more than one role:

Customer
Finds and buys photographs of themselves. Available on every account by default.
Creator
Photographers and event organisers who create events, upload photographs and receive payouts. Activating the Creator role starts your free trial and subjects you to the creator obligations below.
Contributor
A per-event permission granted by a Creator. An event may have at most 10 contributors. Contributors are invited by email and must accept the invitation before they can upload. A Contributor’s uploads are attributed to them for revenue purposes.

You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for everything done through your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

3. Uploading photographs

You keep the copyright in every photograph you upload. By uploading, you grant EventPix a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store, process, index, display, watermark and — where the event is monetized — sell that photograph to attendees, for as long as the event exists on the platform. This licence exists only so we can run the service; we do not license your work to anyone else.

You confirm that, for every photograph you upload:

  • you own it or have the rights necessary to publish and sell it;
  • you have the permissions required to photograph the people in it and to make those photographs available for search and purchase;
  • it is not unlawful, defamatory, sexually explicit, or otherwise in breach of anyone’s rights.

Upload limits and formats:

  • JPG and PNG only;
  • a maximum of 50 MB per file;
  • up to 500 photographs per upload session, 5 uploading concurrently.

Uploads are not published automatically. Every batch arrives unpublished and stays invisible to the public until you publish it. Every image is screened automatically for explicit content before it can appear in a gallery. We may remove any photograph, or suspend an event, where we reasonably believe it breaches these Terms or the law.

4. Event lifecycle and retention

An event is publicly live for 60 days from the date its photographs are published. We send warnings to the Creator on day 53 and day 58.

  • Days 1–60: the event is live and publicly reachable at its gallery link.
  • Days 61–120: the event leaves public view but its assets are retained. Purchasers can still download what they have already bought, within their own download window.
  • Day 121: the photographs and derived assets are permanently deleted. Event and transaction metadata is kept for our accounting and legal obligations. Deletion is final — an expired event cannot be revived.

Events may also be marked Paused, Warned or Banned by us where there is a breach of these Terms. A banned event is not restored.

5. Buying and downloading photographs

Creators set their own prices. Photographs are sold either in bundles — 1 for $2, 3 for $5, 5 for $8 — or at a custom price between $0.50 and $50 set by the Creator. Prices shown at checkout are the prices that apply.

A purchase gives you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the photograph for your own private and personal purposes. It does not transfer copyright and does not permit resale, sub-licensing, stock distribution, or commercial use without the Creator’s separate written permission.

Purchased photographs are delivered as full-resolution originals through a signed, time-limited link. You may download a purchased photograph as many times as you like within 60 days of purchase. We keep our own copy of everything you purchased for that same 60 days, so your download does not depend on the Creator keeping the event online. After 60 days the download link expires.

Previews of photographs in monetized events are watermarked. Removing, cropping out, obscuring or otherwise circumventing a watermark, or using automated means to harvest preview images, is a breach of these Terms.

6. Revenue share and payouts

Revenue from each sale is divided according to the split configured for the event:

  • Standard: 30% to EventPix, 70% to the photographer.
  • Organiser and fleet: 30% to EventPix, 20% to the organiser, 50% to the photographer. These figures are configurable by the Creator and must total 100%.

Each photograph is attributed to the account that uploaded it, so in a multi-photographer event each sale settles to the person who took the picture.

A split can be changed after an event is created, but a change is never retroactive. Downloads purchased after the change settle on the new split; everything purchased before it keeps the split that was in force at the time of the sale.

Payouts:

  • require completed KYC verification;
  • have a minimum of $50;
  • may be requested at most once per day.

Bank charges are deducted as incurred, and you are responsible for any tax due on your earnings.

7. Subscriptions and storage

Creating events and uploading photographs requires an active plan. Activating the Creator role gives you a free trial of 5 GB for 3 months; the trial is non-renewable and available once per account.

Paid plans are priced in Lao kip and currently comprise a Day Pass, a Week Pass, and Starter, Plus and Pro monthly tiers, each with its own storage allowance, plus a storage top-up charged per gigabyte per week and pooled across all your events. Current prices and allowances are always those shown on the subscription page at the time you subscribe; we may change them, and a change takes effect from your next renewal.

Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. When a subscription expires you can no longer create events or upload photographs; existing events continue through their normal lifecycle. Except where the law requires otherwise, subscription fees are not refundable for a partly used period.

8. Payments

Payments are made through BCEL One, LDB, JDB or Lao QR, by redirect to your banking app. We do not collect or store your card or bank credentials — the payment is completed inside your bank’s own application. Bank processing fees (currently 2% BCEL, 2.5% LDB, 3% JDB) apply to each transaction.

Where an organiser has enabled it, you can find photographs of yourself by taking a selfie. This involves processing biometric data, and we ask for your consent before any facial processing takes place.

  • Your search selfie must be 1 MB or smaller.
  • It is used only to run that search, is deleted within one hour, and is never added to a gallery, sold, or used to identify you anywhere else.
  • An organiser can disable face search for an event entirely.
  • Matching uses a high confidence threshold, but no face search is perfect. Results are a best-effort match, not a guarantee, and you must not download or buy photographs of someone else on the basis of a false match.

For races, we read competitor bib numbers from photographs using optical character recognition. Recognition is likewise best-effort and can be affected by motion blur, folds and occlusion.

10. Acceptable use

You must not:

  • use EventPix to find, track, harass or identify another person against their wishes;
  • scrape, bulk-download, or use automated tools against galleries, previews or the API beyond normal personal use;
  • circumvent watermarks, paywalls, download windows or event access controls;
  • upload malware, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorised access to the service;
  • misrepresent who you are or who owns a photograph.

11. Removal requests

If a photograph of you appears on EventPix and you want it removed, or if you believe a photograph infringes your copyright, contact us at [email protected] with enough detail to identify the image. We will review the request and, where it is well-founded, remove the photograph and tell the Creator.

12. Refunds

Because a photograph is delivered immediately and permanently on purchase, sales are final. We will refund where a purchase was charged in error, where the photograph could not be delivered, or where the law otherwise entitles you to a refund. Contact us within 14 days of the purchase.

13. Suspension and termination

You can close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate an account or event that breaches these Terms, that we are legally required to remove, or that presents a risk to other users. Where we do so for a reason other than a serious or repeated breach, we will settle any earnings already due to you.

14. Disclaimers and liability

EventPix is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. We do not warrant that face search or bib recognition will find every photograph of you, that the service will be uninterrupted, or that any particular event will remain available beyond its lifecycle.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with these Terms is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $100. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, goodwill or data.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

15. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, and the courts of Lao PDR have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.

16. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed, and we will give notice of material changes through the service. Continuing to use EventPix after a change means you accept the updated Terms.
